The NutcrackerAs part of the billboard of the Mazatlan Cultural Festival 2019 the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan bring to you the classic Christmas work “The Nutcracker” based on the children’s story of E. T. A. Hoffmann with Tchaikovsky’s melodies.

The Nutcracker tells the wonderful experience of Clarita, a little girl who receives a Nutcracker as a Christmas gift which will come alive to fight against endless evils of the mouse king, leading viewers to live a story full of fantasy and courage. The Nutcracker will perform at the Angela Peralta Theater on December 6 and 7, 2019 at 8:00 pm.

Callejoneada “La Catrina and her Enigmas”

This Saturday, November 2, we invite you to be part of one of the most venerated and majestic traditions of Mexico, the Day of the Dead, which, as is a tradition, the Institute of Culture of Mazatlan invite you to the Callejoneada “La Catrina and her Enigmas” that will take place in the streets of the Historic Center.

This ancient Mexican celebration will begin at the Angela Peralta Theater, where “La Catrina and her Enigmas” will inhabit the theater where more than 100 artists will present different acts with an approximate duration of 20 minutes. Later at 8:00 pm “La Catrina” will depart with her courtship from the Municipal Palace on Angel Flores Street to go to the Paseo Olas Altas and culminate in the Plazuela Machado.

This event is completely free but to enjoy the presentations inside the theater it is necessary to present an entrance ticket that will be awarded this Friday, November 1 at the theater box office from 9:00 a.m.

XXVI National Championship of Charreria

The XXXVI National Championship of Charreria will be held in the port of Mazatlan, Sinaloa from October 23 to 27 in which the participation of 16 states of the Mexican Republic is expected.

That is why the Mexican Federation of Charreria and the Union of Associations of Sinaloa invite the whole family to keep our Mexican traditions alive and participate in this 100% family event.

La Charreria is a national sport that in 2016 was declared by UNESCO as Intangible Heritage of Humanity, hence the importance of continuing to support and encourage its practice for new generations to fall in love with it.

Conejos en el Valle de la MuerteAs part of the billboard of the International Theater Festival ESCENA Mazatlan, the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan bring to you the play Rabbits in Death Valley“, winner of the 2016 Sonorense Book Contest, tells the story of Renato, a lawyer who is against the transfer, a medical procedure that is capable of transferring a disease from one body to another.

The play “Rabbits in Death Valley” will be performed by Producciones a Ciegas Company from Mexico City and directed by Maestro Angel Norzagaray on Saturday, September 28 at 8:00 pm at the Angela Peralta Theater.

Frank Baum, Master Giovanny Giuseppe, together with the students of the Children’s Theater and Choir Workshop of the Municipal Arts Center of Mazatlan, brings to you the wonderful classic work The Wizard of Oz which narrates the journey of little Dorothy in the land of Oz, a place of magical adventures where she will meet peculiar friends like The Scarecrow, The Tin Man and The Lion.

The Wizard of Oz it is a work for the whole family and will perform at the Angela Peralta Theater next Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 8:00 pm.
