Last December 21st, the 12 aspirants to the various reigns of the greatest festival of the port of Mazatlan, Sinaloa appointment at the Fisherman’s Monument to promote among residents and tourists Mazatlan International Carnival 2014 to be celebrating from February 27 to March 4, bearing the slogan: “Litoralia: Skin of the Sea”.
During the promotion between parades and dancing, candidates supported by the team of Culture Mazatlan, gave motorists alluding to the carnival bumper, while passers-by to take advantage keepsake photo.
The celebration began at 10:00 am where nine beauties competing for a high crown caught the attention and sympathy of the present as well as the charisma of Juan Osuna and Adolfo Blanco “The Artist” who compete for the crown of the King Joy, to finally close with the tenderness of childhood candidates Ivanna Romero and Zuszet Guevara.
Four giant puppets created by sculptor Jorge Gonzalez Neri, filled with colors the Mazatlan’s leeve: a New Orleans harlequin, a Venetian figure, a Cuban rumba and a cheerful brasileira, and tropical music and batucada contagious joy to the present.
In opinion of the Director of Culture, Raul Rico, Mazatlan International Carnival 2014 will mark historical numbers for the port thanks to the recent opening of the Mazatlan-Durango highway that allow the massive arrival of visitors from the North Corridor.
Do not forget, Mazatlan is waiting with open arms at its International Carnival 2014 “Litoralia: Skin of the Sea” from February 27 to March 4.
