On July 8th, Hotel Playa Mazatlan experienced one of the most anticipated moments, its official reopening after several months in pause due to the pandemic by the Covid-19. During these months we worked hard on certifications and remodeling to be ready for this “new normal” that has only prompted us to be better and more careful in matters of health and safety.
Our first guests, Mrs. Maria del Socorro Castillo and her husband Mr. Javier Valle from the state of Coahuila, were in charge of cutting the ribbon for the reopening and amid music and typical dances, under strict security protocols is how we announce that: We are back!
It is important to take into account that for reasons of the pandemic the Hotel will be offering its services only at 65% of its capacity, so there are already dates where we do NOT have availability, so before planning your stay with us consult our Availability Calendar 2020.
With all this, Hotel Playa Mazatlan is ready to offer you memorable experiences in a safe and guaranteed environment.
We invite you to schedule your stay in advance and take advantage of one of our promotions:
Starting this Sunday and thanks to the new Sustainable Mobility Law of the State of Sinaloa, Mazatlan will become the first city in northwest of Mexico to have a public bicycle system, with fourth-generation technology and in its first stage will offer a service inside the polygon: Downtown, Olas Altas and Rafael Buelna Avenue.
The public bicycle system in Mazatlan will be controlled by the Mexican company VBike ‘La Bici Verde’ (The Green Bike), which is a shared and 100% ecological and technological bicycle system. All you have to do is:
- Download the VBike app from Google Play or iTunes App Store and register.
- Locate the nearest bike with your application, unlock your bike by scanning the QR code that is on the back of the bike frame, and that’s it! Your bike will unlock and start your journey.
- Did you finish your tour? Check the VBike map to locate the designated area to park, lock the padlock located on the rear tire and mark in your app that your trip has ended.
For security, the bicycles will have a geolocation system by GPS and with an alarm that is activated when it is left in a place that should not.
The costs to use the bicycles will be $5 per trip, $39 per month or $399 per year (mexican pesos).

In recent days, the Product Manager for Mexico and Latin America of the travel operator American Airlines Vacations, Liane Augustine, in an exclusive interview with Mazatlan Interactivo, announced that of the 21 tourist destinations operating in Mexico, Mazatlan is the only one which presents solid growth for the season 2017-2018.
For American Airlines Vacations are currently five main tourist destinations in Mexico that they operate: Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cozumel, but in this occasion the destination that is positioned and with the best expectations is undoubtedly Mazatlan, the Pearl of the Pacific.
Liane Augustine believes that these results are the product of the intense marketing campaign that has been made in the United States and Canada, in addition to the improvements in infrastructure and attractions that are being carried out in the port.
For American Airlines Vacations Mazatlan is certainly a destination that has it all, has beautiful beaches, an extensive and beautiful boardwalk, extraordinary climate, delicious cuisine, emblematic Historic Center with cultural events throughout the year, the proximity of Magical Towns, colonial towns , the warmth of its people… Mazatlan, you have to live it!
The Secretary of the Municipal City Council, Joel Boucieguez, announced the opening of two new tourist markets: Handcrafted Market and Malecon Market where visitors will be able to find souvenirs, handicrafts and typical gastronomy of the port.
The Handcrafted Market will be located in what nowadays knows as the Flowers Market in the center of the city and the Malecon Market will be located on Del Mar Avenue, in what used to be Coliseos; its concept will be very similar to the Mercado Roma in Mexico City, where there are organic and gourmet food stalls, fast food outlets as well as stores and restaurants of the city.
This is how Mazatlan diversifies its tourist offer so our visitors will have a unique experience in the port.
