After 11 years of construction and with an estimated investment of 28,600 million pesos, today the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, will head the formal opening ceremony of the Mazatlan-Durango Superhighway, considered by the Federal Government as the most ambitious road work of the 21st Century in Mexico.
The opening of the Mazatlan-Durango Superhighway marks the start of a new economic block that expected detonates the development in the north region of the country, connecting the Asian markets with the East of the United States and Canada through a logistics network, reducing travel time from 6 hours to 2.5 in light vehicles and 10 to 4 hours for trucks through the mountainous zone of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
Through a statement issued by the Government of Sinaloa was reported that the Mazatlan-Durango Superhighway create a route for the economies of the block Asia-Pacific (APEC) integrated by 21 nations that concentrate the major economic growth, responsible for 53% of the world production and 47% of the global trade, besides the fact that it will stimulate the tourism in both regions.
