Was successfully held the Eighth National Mechanisms for the Advancement of Women in the states that the National Women's Institute with support from the Sinaloa State Government held on 17, 18 and 19 November in the halls of the Hotel Playa Mazatlan.
Aiming to monitor and review arrangements and progress brought about in the National System for Equality between Women and Men, the Eighth Meeting was attended by the heads of the Institutes of Women located in the 32 states of Mexico and Federal District.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Ms. María Rocío García Gaytán, President of the National Women's Institute, Margarita Urías Burgos, Director General of Sinaloa Institute of Women, representing the Governor of the State of Sinaloa, Dr. Fernando Armienta, Secretary of Health, the Municipal President of Mazatlan, Mr. Jorge Abel López Sánchez, the Deputy Judith del Rincón, President of the Commission on Equality and Gender, Judge Miguel Ángel Castañeda Silva, Judge of the Second First Instance of the Branch Family, Sergio Avendaño Coronel, General Attorney of Justice and Dr. Miguel Ángel Camacho, head of the Sanitary District # 5 of Mazatlan.
During the Eighth Meeting addressed issues relating to public policies with a gender perspective, and also worked on the federal project of the Programme for Strengthening the Gender Mainstreaming and the Fund for the Development of Municipal Women Instances (FODEIMM).
