Christmas Show 2010

With an emotive Holiday concert and a spectacular art show the Mazatlan Cultural Festival 2010 ended with its traditional Christmas Show that took place this Saturday 18th at the majestic Angela Peralta Theater.

The evening began with a beautiful interpretation by the Angela Peralta Chorus from traditional Christmas carols to continue with special pieces of the time as Duetto, the opera Hansel und Grretel, E. Humperdinck and Sleigh Ride, L. Anderson, arranged by Claudio Tarris.

The Municipal School of Classic Ballet and the Professional School of Mazatlan’s Contemporary Dance immersed in emotion the Theatre through delicate choreography that blended the physical beauty of the dancers and their performances, with the emotion and feeling of the time, to frame their presentation with Christmas carols of all parts of the world as Riu, Riu, Chiu, of Mateo Flecha the old man; Adeste Fideles of Europe; Candlelight Carol by John Rutter; Holy Night of Adolph Adam, between others.

The climax of the Show came with the interpretation of Silent Night of Franz Gruber and Santa Claus is coming to town, of Fred Coots. But it was the Caribbean Christmas carol of the Magicians of the East who did overflow of emotion the public of Mazatlan.

As sample of gratefulness, the staff of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Arts of Mazatlan, donated donuts and “champurrado” (chocolate made in atole instead of water) at the end of the concert to the audience for their enthusiasm and dedication during all the festivities and events that were part of the Mazatlan Cultural Festival 2010.
