The mexican airline Volaris opened on June 6th the route that connects Mexico City with Mazatlan and because of the great demand for this route since its opening and in gratitude to the destination, Volaris has been operating an Airbus A319 which has been designed on the outside with the commercial image of the port and labeled with the Mazatlan beach illustration.
The Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Francisco Manuel Cordova Celaya, reported that this aircraft with capacity for 156 passengers will initially cover the route Mexico City-Monterrey, where the latter is considered the market for tourism of the Sinaloa port.
With great success last November 30 and December 1 was held in the beautiful port of Mazatlan the Great Marathon Pacific Mazatlan 2013 that managed to summon approximately 12,500 athletes and hundreds of participants without official registration, promoting Mazatlan not only as tourist destination but as a port where the sport is promoted.
With the presence of the Governor of Sinaloa, Mario Lopez Valdez, and Secretary of Tourism, Francisco Cordova Celaya, yesterday morning the awards ceremony was held where the men’s competition the African power was felt with competitors Kenyans Kiplimo Meto Stephen Mburi and Festus Kioko who picked up the first, second and third place respectively.
With a time of 2 hours, 19 minutes and 18 seconds, the Kenyan Benjamin Meto Kiplimo managed to cover the distance of 42 kilometers and 195 meters of the most important competition of the Marathon Pacific Mazatlan 2013 imposing a consistent step throughout the race.
Meanwhile in the women’s category the victory was for the ‘tlaxcalteca’ Karina Perez Delgado with a time of 2 hours, 40 minutes and 55 seconds managed to win the Kenyan Ruth Chepckoech and the Mexican from Michoacan, Misha Elena Ruiz Fernandez, who crowned with the second and third place respectively.

One of the most extraordinary experiences that can be enjoyed in Family in the beautiful port of Mazatlan is the Release of Sea Turtles and this is thanks to the efforts and preservation program that directs staff of Mazatlan Aquarium.
With a lot of expectation and samples of wonder and joy, yesterday afternoon, authorities of Mazatlan Aquarium in the company of dozens of tourists and residents of the port participating in the release of 700 baby olive ridley and black turtles, of which the above mentioned represent a great achievement for the institution as it was just 2 months ago when the eggs of black turtles were found on Del Mar Avenue.
Prior to the release, Jose Barron Hernandez, Coordinator Aquarium Turtle Program, explained to the presents the differences that have each of these two species and noted that of the 8 species of turtles in the world, 7 live in the Mexican beaches and sadly of every 100 released, only one or two make it to adult stage.
The next release of the turtles will have this Saturday as part of the program of the Great Marathon Pacific Mazatlan 2013. The appointment is at 5:00 pm in front of the monument to the Sea Lions.

Some of the dishes that were served during the gastronomic sample were the pate of fish, shrimp pate, marinated marlin, sierra ceviche, Hawaiian ceviche, oysters, among others.

We are a few days to start the long-awaited Pacific Marathon 2013 to be held in Mazatlan this November 30 and December 1, which promises to its participants and visitors a wide range of activities to be enjoyed in a healthy and familiar environment.
For the first time the Great Pacific Marathon 2013 in its 15th edition will have a new attraction: “The Bands Marathon” will consist of placing every 2 kilometers of the route a band that encourages participants to run to the compass of Sinaloa’s regional music.
The program will begin on Saturday November 30 with the 10K race for people in wheelchairs, crutches, visually impaired or totally blind, which will begin at 18:30 hrs., Then give way to the grand event “Festival of Light” where the entire coastal area of Mazatlan will be lit with hundreds of fireworks to be launched into the sky.
In addition will have alternative activities such as the “Botorgas Race”, “Christmas party for Children”, “Turtle Release”, “Comptetitions for people with special capacities”, among others.

With great happiness and high expectations, yesterday the Governor of the state of Sinaloa, Mario Lopez Valdez accompanied of his wife Mrs. Alma Sofia Carlon of Lopez gave the welcome to passengers and crew members of the first large-scale cruise ship that comes to our port: ‘Veendam’ of the Holland America line.
With live music from a local band, ladies dressed in traditional regional costumes, ballet, municipal authorities and tourism sector entrepreneurs, the morning of November 12 was welcomed in the port of Mazatlan over 2,000 passengers and crew who came on board the ship and that mark the beginning of a new history for our port.
Given to the enormous effort that meant that the cruises were turning to trust in Mazatlan as a safe destination to visit, the Governor of the State exhorted the lenders of services, authorities and the general public to contribute their best to provide good service and experience to our visitors creating an atmosphere of warmth and safety that allows to stimulate new visits.
During the reception the Governor was accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Francisco Manuel Cordova Celaya, U.S. Consul, John Tavenner, the City Mayor, Alejandro Higuera, Mr. Carlos Felton and hoteliers.

With the aim of providing new attractions for Mazatlan’s visitors, the Merchants Association of the Golden Zone in conjunction with the Secretariat of Tourism of Sinaloa and Mazatlan Town Hall have scheduled a series of events completely free from November 16 where attendees can enjoy in family spectacles and festivals in one of the most recognized zone of the port: The Golden Zone.
