Tourism authorities reported that more than 11,000 international tourists will visit the port of Mazatlan during the Holy Week aboard cruise ships: Carnival Miracle (Tuesday March 31), Crown Princess and Norwegian Star (Wednesday April 1).
The Carnival Miracle Cruise arrived in Mazatlan at 7:45 am this morning with 2,055 passengers and 941 crew on board. For tomorrow at 6:00 pm Cruise ship Crown Princess and 7:00 pm on Norwegian Star who bring 4,374 and 3,720 passengers and crew members respectively are expected.
The affluence of international tourists will join the national tourists already visiting the port which will contribute to increased economic benefit in Mazatlan.
In order to provide better attention in the shortest possible time, Mazatlan Red Cross joins the Security Operation of Holy Week by implementing new methods and strategies to cover more areas of potential emergencies in the port with better attention and in the shortest time possible, this was announced by the local coordinator Agustin Borrego Torres.
During the Holy Week 80 members of the Red Cross will be participating throughout the day, while the night shifts will be covered by 20 paramedics; for possible accidents there will be a rescue unit equipped with the necessary tools to address major issues that need immediate intervention; likewise, for primary care will have the support of a new Red Cross ambulance from Culiacan adapted into a Nissan truck.
Along with this, nine ambulances will be distributed at strategic points of the port from the school ‘El Pacifico’ to ‘Cerritos’. An ambulance will flow from the ‘Gutierrez Najera’ Avenue, through ‘Ejercito Mexicano’ until the cruise Mazatlan Avenue and International Road to the North.
Three motorcycle ambulances and 6 bicycles will strengthen the monitoring, both equipped with medical equipment for first aid.

In terms of air connectivity announced 80,000 new seats on international flights to Mazatlan and up to 130,000 new seats on domestic flights to Culiacan.
Yesterday afternoon the Ministry of Tourism, Claudia Ruiz Massieu, accompanied by the Governor of Sinaloa, Mario Lopez Valdez, the Secretary of Tourism of the State, Francisco Cordova Celaya and other personalities, was officially inaugurated the Stand of Sinaloa in the framework of the exhibition of the 40th edition of the Mexico Tourism Tianguis 2015 held in Acapulco, Guerrero.

From 23 to 26 March in Acapulco, Guerrero will be held the Tourism Tianguis Mexico 2015 where the participation of the state of Sinaloa will be headed by the Governor, Mario Lopez Valdez and the Secretary of Tourism, Francisco Cordova Celaya, which shared photographs that reflect the latest details that they are doing to Sinaloa’s stand.

Municipal authorities made a tour the beaches of Mazatlan from the Fisherman’s Monument to Valentinos to verify the conditions in which they are, since one of the main objectives pursued in the holiday period that is approaching is to provide a better image of the port and clean beach destination for locals and tourists.
Some of the aspects that were monitored were the conditions of the booths of the lifeguards, restrooms, palapas, signposts to be installed in the aid stations throughout the Del Mar Avenue, among others.
Meanwhile the Commander of the Water Rescue Group, Adrian Cervantes Rodriguez, reported that first aid and rescue training have been conducted for persons proceeding from the towns of Rosario, Escuinapa and Mazatlan’s hotels and also are distributed 40 caution flags from Stone Island to Punta Cerritos to alert the population of sea conditions.
