Holiday of the Candles Cosala 2013
December 11, 2013
Every December 11 the Magical Town of Cosala realizes one of the most deep-rooted holidays of the entity: The Holiday of the Candles, festivity that counts with more than 300 years of tradition and that forms a part of the celebrations of the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe (who is commemorated On December 12).
Shortly after nightfall, thousands of candles are appearing that are illuminating the streets and colonial constructions of the town. A pilgrimage made mostly by residents and tourists who do not want to miss such an event, they open the way to the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, where faith, warmth of the candles and the beautiful magical town, give this party a mystical touch.
A weekend in Cosala, Sinaloa, will be transported to the roots of our people, where its picturesque fronts, cobbled streets, delicious gastronomy, walks and ecotourism will show the beauty and tradition that protects this Magical Town, seated at 30 kilometers of Culiacan, capital of Sinaloa.
