Alberto Cortez in concert
The Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Arts with the support of “Cultura Mazatlan” presented in Cultural Festival 2010 to Argentine songwriter Alberto Cortez, who will give a concert in Mazatlan as part of his farewell tour.
Alberto Cortez was born in Rancul, Pampa province in Argentina on March 11, 1940. When he was 12 years old he started his career as a composer, to be "A cigarette, rainfall and You" one of his earliest works. His talent and love of the arts allowed him to make his way as a songwriter and it was not long before his name became popular in Argentina and later in the world. A notable finding Alberto Cortez happened in 2000 when one of his songs, "When a friend goes" together with "Alfonsina y el mar" and "Thanks to Life" were considered in a survey by one of the newspapers in Chile, as the three best Castilian songs in the twentieth century.
Alberto Cortez expected to give a concert in Mazatlan that transports its viewers into a remembrance of his story through his songs of love.
